Our thermometer measures the humidity and the day or two before Tday we had 10% humidity in the afternoon, that's about as low as I've ever seen. But on Tday the humidity was still at 80% at noon, still no rain here since the week after the hurricane. Our front lawn is almost completely brown since we're back on one day watering schedule.

I did bring my orchids in for a couple days since starting flowers, and one dend had four buds actually ready to open up, I should have left it in the FL room because a critter ate all my flowers off the stem after I put it back outside. I think it may be a rat since I saw one the other night. The squirrels don't ever seem to bother my orchids, except digging in the them. Sighing!

Sherri, sorry to hear abut your orchid being somethings meal. I've never had that problem when mine are outside until first frost. 2 of my 3 vandas are blooming since I put them in the guest house for the winter. Have them hanging in front of the east french doors. I decided to not put them in my garden tub this winter and they are perfectly happy being out there instead.

11 years ago Amaryllisgal gave me a van load of lime rock and I used them to make a rock garden. Over the years the forest grew up over it and the only thing growing now are a few agaves. I showed this rock garden to the young man that's been helping to do garden clean up around here. He was excited about that. Went and got the hand truck and hauled all but the 4 largest ones over and bordered in several garden beds. Next time he comes, I'll get him to move the agaves to an area we can see and enjoy.

About 6 years ago, I went to a roundup here in the gainesville area. The hostess gave me 3 hardy bromiliads. Those plants multiplied and when we were doing clean up, I had Justin thin them out. He pulled over 25 plants still leaving me 6-8 or so. I gave most of them away and still have a few in pots waiting to go somewhere.

We finally got some rain early in the week, rained in the night and all day. Everything that is evergreen really enjoyed it, but with that rain came a bit of a cold front. I have a supply of sweatshirts in the car for when it gets colder while at work and the Sherwin Williams store here gave me some more. They don't want to see my scrawny bones get cold. Smiling

This is a 10-12 foot single trunk rose (Mr Lincoln) I didn't know I should be pruning it and it made itself into a tree. Hurricane Hermine broke it's trunk and it's now a 3 foot tree and still in good shape.

I don't know why I missed these post, I must need to fix my settings.
Molly the roses are beautiful. One day I need to visit your garden.

I do have to admit I've enjoyed the warmer weather. I don't mind 80/60 days as long as it isn't muggy or get above 84, of course perfect is 70/50 days, but too many nights in the mid to low 40's get into my bones. They say tonight we will dip down to 39, which will actually be the dawn hours. We have dipped that low one other time so far this winter, the garden wasn't fazed at all, even coleus looked fine.

It hasn't rained real good here since the hurricane, just little quick rains that didn't amount to anything. Last night we had a nice good soaking rain, looks like a bit more. I guess I can take a 39 degree night if it means a good soaking rain ahead. Thumbs up
