Are there ANY daylily doubles that actually display a second set of petals that DON'T look like crumpled up balls of tissue paper?

LOL - What about Peggy Jeffcoat? I just saw it at a daylily show and it is huge and very pretty and doesn't look like these.

Rob,
Yes, and I do prefer those over the crinkly ones. They are called hose-in-hose, such as the cultivar Ruth Whitten. I don't have a photo on this device, but there are examples in the database here. I noticed a scape forming last week, and that's what made me think of it.

Doubles aren't my top favorite, but I do grow a few...Ruth Whitten is one of my favorites with its soft coloring and huge bloom.

Excellent...THAT is what comes to my mind when thinking of doubled flowers.

My absolute favorite double is Siloam Double Classic. It does not even look like a daylily bloom, but instead a peony bloom. It is so pretty! I am waiting for mine to rebloom this season:

Siloam Double Classic (it sometimes produces a deep peach color early in the morning):

Another registered double that I have is Chinese Scholar (which I also really love):

Thanks everyone! I need to add Peggy Jeffcoat. I didn't know it was such a large double until I saw it win a prize at a show. Plus it is an award winner. Always a plus. Nice plant.
