'Grey Witch' (Reed, 1999); even though registered as a dormant, it acts as a semi-evergreen here. It's fertile both ways and has compact foliage with a strong scape. It's one of the few spiders/ufs that don't rebloom for me, but that's okay because I'm fond on this bloom.

It's completing the third bloom season here. Good plant. Increased well from the beginning and produces scapes freely so it's always given the kind of display you can see in Floota's photo. It is a mid-late bloomer here. It' currently on the end of its bloom here, but way more than half of what I'm growing are already finished. It has never rebloomed, but I haven't seen any late bloomers do that here. Distinctive bloom. Sometimes darker and sometimes more silvery gray.

One of my favorites, it is productive, tough, and beautiful. Displays color variations similar to Donald's description.

This is one of my favorite daylilies. It is beautiful and increases well. Also love Brown Witch and Planet Max, and many other Margo Reed intros.

This was a gift plant from Bob Selman a few years ago. When it bloomed, which it did a couple of months after planting, my husband and I were going "Well, hmmmm". We had nothing like it in our garden. It took awhile for me to warm up to it, but my husband was quicker to accept the unusual color. In the morning, it has a definite gray cast to the color. This changes by the evening to more purple. It is a rapid increaser and it does bloom reliably and is just now finishing for us. I think it could be really hard to like it using just photographs. To me, it is quite different seeing a picture and then seeing the real thing. We always plan to have it here, for it is a good daylily, does its job with no muss, no fuss.

I am not crazy about spiders but this one has me hooked. The silvery grey color it can have is outstanding. the scapes are tall at 30" and stand up well. It has increased quickly and, with a bud count of 15 with 4 way branching puts on a good long show, more than 4 weeks mid season.
