Juli that coleus is stunning. Do you know what lighting conditions it takes to have the intense color?

No I don't. The nursery I was at is owned by a guy that is supposed to be pretty famous for his coleus breeding - Chris Baker. I took this image in their sales greenhouse. I used to go past this place on my way home from work at night (2nd shift - so 1 p.m.) , and I never saw any lights on in the greenhouses.

Here is a shot of one of the benches of coleus - maybe you can tell from this about the lighting. They probably have 4 benches like this in spring. I remember on DG there were people who came from Florida in a van to get a co-op order from Chris.

Edited to add - sorry the photo is sideways! It shows up right side up in my photo viewer and I didn't think to do a preview.

So they must get nice bright light all day. Wonder what time he turns the lights on?
I will have to try that one next spring. Thank you for posting the photo. : )
