I have had a Gasteria Royal Wolfgang for about 10 months and it was doing wonderfully until about a week ago. Most of the leaves shriveled and became a grey/green colour. The tips of man of these leaves still look fine, as do most of the smaller leaves that are around the middle and bottom of the plant. I tried adjusting the water and light levels but nothing seems to be working. I'd really like to save this plant. Thanks, for your advice in advance.

I'm not a succulent expert (although I do grow a few), so I hope someone more knowledgeable will jump in here; but to me that sounds like an overwatering problem. Or, could it possibly have been chilled? Is it potted in a soil mix for succulents? Since the plant appears to be relatively small, maybe you can kind of lift it out of the pot to see what's going on "down below," to see how the roots look and if the soil is soggy, or what.

I'm trying to remember the soil that it is planted in, I believe that most of it is a cactus soil mix but I didn't have enough of that so the bottom is just a regular garden mix. Haven't fertilized it whatsoever. I'll take your advice and not water it for yhe next few days and try to lift it if possible. 😊

Has it been in direct sun and gotten burnt?

Hello madiblue, to me it looks like the plant got overwatered at some point then got too heated and dried out. What is the condition of the plants center part? That is where the new leaf growth will come. In your photo, I seem to see it is still quite healthy green color, so there is still hope for your plant.

In my area, my gasterias prefer to be in part sun/shade, and are more actively growing during Spring and early Fall. Our summers are so dry and hot, and gasterias hate that, so it goes in a semi-dormant phase, till it cools down again.
