Thank you!! (: I have a large aloe vera also, and this one has hard tendrils (or whatever they are called) instead of the slight squishiness of my other!

Pretty sure it is not Aloe vera. It looks a little short on light. Not sure what exactly it would be. Are the small teeth I see on the leave edges sharp (ie. would they cut you) or more blunt?
It is what it is!

Welcome! to NGA Lindsey I'm glad you could join us. I'm not too big on houseplants because I have so many plants outside I have to tend to but I remember my grandmother growing aloe and it looked similar. mcvansoest is lucky because many of the plants we call houseplants can be grown outside in AZ including Aloe and would know better than me.

Ugh I'm so jealous here in Ohio I don't think mine would do the greatest outside. While I'm home from school it is hard to get all my plants good light, I may have to buy a plant light for them!

The teeth are more blunt!

Not sure if it's an aloe vera either. Maybe @Baja_Costero can shed some light.

I agree, the plant is not Aloe vera. Could not say what it is, but it is from that family.

My first thought was maybe Gasteria or Gasteraloe of some sort.
