I live in London, UK and I was wondering if anyone know what kind of plant is this and if it's edible.
It sort reming me a cabbage leaves, but I have no idea what it is.

Welcome lurba!
Has this plant ever bloomed? Is it in sun or shade? Is there any smell to the leaves if you rub them? These things will help to determine what the plant is.

Old gardeners never die. They are just pruned and repotted.

I got a Bergenia vibe too. If so, should it have bloomed by now though? Maybe a different one than I had in OH (B. cordifolia.)

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The 2nd best time is now. (-Unknown)

Try to be more valuable than a bad example.
It does resemble Pigsqueak (Bergenia crassifolia) I have no clue if the leaves are edible or not, but the plant does produce beautiful blooms! Try rubbing a leaf between your thumb and forefinger and see if it makes a squeaky noise. Here's another link with information for Bergenia crassifolia: http://www.missouribotanicalga...
