Thread OP

Have had this money tree for couple of years. 2 years ago I lost all the stems except for this one. People advised me to stop watering it too much and repot. All worked great and it's doing better. Problem now is that it is awkward and I can't seem to get stalks back. Would it be bad to cut the one last stalk off and let all of that energy go into growing from the bottom? I don't know how to cut back or prune to get it to a better shape. Any advice is welcome. Thank you!!

Yes, cut it off. It will re-branch at the nodes just below your cut so decide where you want new growth and plan accordingly. I usually advise people to cut two leaf nodes below where they thnk they should.

With yours, I would cut that entire top 'arm' off. You have two coming up from the bottom (looks like two). I would cut so that the third 'arm' will branch at the same height as the two others. The braided part is decorative at this point. Leave it or cut it out, depending upon how you feel about it.

The best part is that you can root the part you cut off and add it to the pot.
