Been real busy with the Humboldt Rose Society. At the end of December I will finish my 2 year term as president. Now I can spend more time on my lilies.

This year I took 3 trips looking for wild native lilies in my area. I have visited these places before but checking to see if they are still around.

1. On May 29, 2016 I went near the town of Kneeland, California. This is approx 15 miles from my home.
I found L. kelloggii

I been told that in Humboldt County there are 9 wild native lilies that grow here. I thought I had collected all of them, but recently my L. occidentale (which is rare and protected here in Calif) bloomed but it didn't have a green throat. The only place it is said to be growing is in an area called Table Bluff, which is only 10 miles from me. Its under the protection of BLM.

If anyone knows of a company selling L. occidentale with a green throat, please let me know.
Thanks

Good to hear from you Mike. Now we know what you have been up to. Being president of a plant society can get pretty involved. Thanks for hunting these lilies down again and posting photos of them.

That is sure a lot of L. columbianum there. I thought I was so lucky to come across a couple of stems in a nearby woodsy area.
