Knocking on wood , but so far my only issues have been the tree rats and rabbits. Although, not to many issues with peter and his buddy's lately. I have noticed some deer not to far from my home recently. I think within a year or so, I may need to work to deter those critters...

Yes, as soon as I capture one critter another one moves in to take his place. This particular one has been around awhile now, but has been pretty good about not digging up the plants (I am sure the new wire cages have helped) so I have left him alone. If he digs up many more plants I will have to capture him. He does a pretty good job of weeding so for now he is safe.

I had deer come through the other night, they did not bother the daylilies but eat nearly all the buds off the Asiatics. They did leave a few for me, but they were not very generous.

I understand that one. A local friend of mine used to catch the squirrels but everyone removed, two or three would replace it.

A grower that my mother and I visit in NE GA has issues with the deer and has, for several years now. The deer strip all of the buds off two or three outer rows of her daylily's. She has CVs that she hasn't seen bloom now for at least three years. She has used sprays, dogs and all the other gags to keep them at bay the best she can, but they overrun her...

re the deer, I use a product called PlantSkydd with great success... the product does really well in keeping the deer and rabbits away; is long lasting.

Thanks for the tip... I use Milorganite on my daylily's and lawn. It provides some deterrent attributes as I am sure you've read here and there in the forums...

I've used Milorganite before, but the effectiveness seem to disapate fairly quickly for me, thats why I tried the PlantSkydd, its listed as organic, supposedly protects against the following: Deer, Elk, Moose, Rabbit, Hares, Voles, Squirrels, Chipmunks, Mountain Beaver, Nutria, Opossum and other herbivores and is long lasting. I like the liquid better, just be upwind if you use it...pretty smelly.
As a disclaimer, I am not a dealer, just found it works great.
