Greetings, Do any of you growing Adeniums foliar feed? If so, what product do you use, how often, and what results were obtained.

Hi, Joe! I just noticed that you have not received a response yet to your inquiry.

I'll give it a shot...I don't foliar feed purposely. Supposedly adenium leaves do not absorb NPK through their leaves. However, I have heard that leaves and seed pods sprayed with a dose of Boron will aid in the development of perfect flowers as well as seed pod development. But I think this is a quick fix that is absorbed by the plant if deficient of this element. Another is Magnesium sprayed on the plant...another quick fix for deficiency of this vitamin.

Plants take up their nutrients from the soil, but I guess they could take up certain minor elements from foliar feeding when needed?

I am puzzled reading this, why shouldn't Adeniums respond to regular foliar feeding?
( Btw Magnesium is not a Vitamin.... )

I said, "Supposedly..." I had read on several different sites that they are not foliar-fed. I am puzzled too as to why Adeniums are not fed regular fertilizer through their leaves, yet foliar spraying of certain micronutrients is recommended. I was hoping someone would enlighten.

Magnesium is a vitamin...for humans as well as plants. But the word vitamin is not generally used in connection with fertilizers for plants. I'll refrain from using the word so as not to confuse.

The OP's question, "Do any of you growing Adeniums foliar feed?" was specifically directed at those who foliar-feed. I don't, so had no business replying here. I bumped up the thread to try to solicit feedback and be enlightened on the subject.

I have been misting my seedlings 3-4 times a week with a solution of 1/8 tsp. 9-3-6, 1/8 tsp. Pro-TeKt, and 1/2 tsp. Coco Wet per gallon of tap water. So far it hasn't had any negative results, seems like my seedlings are doing fine. I have nothing to compare them to because this is first Adenium seedlings.

I have used a product called "Spray n Grow" Micronutrients. There are a lot of proven documentation of the benefits of using a foliar spray. Some products need to have some type of wetting agent mixed in with them to make them ore readily available to the plants.

I have used a Kelp spray on a few stressed plants to see how they make out.

The problem can be that fertilization from the soil is not eliminated. The soil fertilization whether it be organic or chemical is required.

Rick, The foliar feeding is in addition to root feeding. I am growing the plants in a soilless mix, fertilizing regularly.
