Sounds like one of those plants that sorta takes over anything in it's path Rolling on the floor laughing

Seriously, cool story and I'm sure fun memories for you. I went through a time of houseplants too but only have two now and they live on the porch in the summer and in the basement under lights with my tender perennials in the winter.

Love the photo. It would make me want to get another one too Lovey dubby

Sharon...I had one years ago when I lived "in Yankee Land" and loved it. I recently found one at Lowes I *think* or perhaps Home Depot. Needless to say it just had to jump in my jeep and is now quite happy in the screen room. Hopefully it will also like my dungeon...oops...house this winter.

Vic, I swear every year I'm going to get rid of these houseplants. What do I do? I just keep adding more.

Gin, that thing will no doubt grow anywhere and love wherever it is. If mine could grow and thrive under my bed for who knows how long, I'm sure a dungeon won't hurt it a bit.

One good reason for keeping them is they are supposed to be good for the air Thumbs up

One of mine is from when I had cancer. The fact that it's still alive gives me hope Lovey dubby

The other one is from a dear friend so I could never let it go.

Sometimes I think just seeing the green is so helpful through the dreary winter months.

You are right, they do grab the carbon dioxide and give us oxygen in return.

Mine are from friends too, another reason to keep them. But oh my, bringing them in. That's another story.

Enjoys or suffers cold winters
Our happy house plant is an angel wings begonia. It was given to me by a lady who helped out when oldest daughter was born. Daughter is now 50. We keep making cuttings when the plant gets too lopsided. Did I mention that we don't have a good place for houseplants?

Somehow houseplants don't seem to mind, Lucy. They don't often care if we think it's a good place or a bad place.
So great that you have a plant that has lasted 50 years!
