Just about! They come down the creek at night and since the creek crosses the corner of our place, it happens frequently. Also, I put out water and some food for wildlife during the day, which, I admit, might draw them in, although the wildlife food they could reach is often gone by nighttime. How bad it gets depends on the season and conditions at the time. They like acorns, so acorn season is always a big foraging time for them. Other than that, they eat worms and other small critters down in the soil, roots, tubers, fruit, corn and certain other crops, I think. During dry times, they're looking for water especially. After rainy times (like earlier this year and parts of last year), they reproduce at an astronomical rate, then later, they get especially desperate for food. Normally, the fences keeps them out and I go out waving a flashlight occasionally just to remind the snarling beasts at night that we're here. This is the first time that I know about that they've actually come inside the yard because I got careless. But they've always rooted around on parts of my two acres outside the fenced yard, leaving a mess, but strangely enough...mostly kill plants by uprooting them or trampling them...they dig in certain areas. Farmers and ranchers hate them, of course! Hunting of wild hogs is highly encouraged in Texas!
