Hilary--Gorgeous vibrant Final Touch and Christmas Is! I do not know if it is lighting, weather or soil, but on your Lavender Blue Baby the eye and color seems a little off. Kind of hard to tell with my Texas conditions and the better growing conditions you have over the pond! Many blessings for joy today and everyday!

Does anyone have a short (18" scape with 5" bloom) double peach / apricot that is blooming right now? If so, I am trying to ID one of mine. Thanks!

Thank you Sharon. Everything is usually covered with dew in the early morning
....tends to hide some of the defects. The foliage is really starting to get ratty looking, older leaves dying, some leaf streak, heat stress, areas that received freeze burn this spring etc. I'm trying to work on taking better images by removing or moving bad stuff in the frame...now if I could just remember to do it while taking sdlg images! Rolling my eyes.

A few of the ones blooming in my garden today are:

Baby Blue Eyes - this is new to me this year and is doing extremely well so far.

Clouds of Kisses - New to the garden last summer, and performing very well. Lots of bloom for a young plant.

Cute As Can Be - A very tiny double and another one new last year. A very small minature double.

Dragon Dreams - New this spring, and I love this one. I hope it does well.

Foolish Fling - FFE - Another new one this spring and this is its first flower.

Little Italy - a bonus plant, but it turned out to be quite nice.

Prairie Blue Eyes - An oldie, but a favourite. This one has been in the garden since the very beginning of the garden in the 1990's.

Ornamental Focus - I just bought this one last week.

Jocelyn's Oddity - a cute small spider.

Big Smile - Such a pretty bloom.

Mine looks consistently like my photo in my garden. It is a creamy pale yellow with a peachy pink ruffled edge.

Charley-- great job on color pairings. You brought daylily drool to a whole new level. Now my daylily drool is accompanied by tummy rumblings!
Valerie--What a bunch of beauties! Clouds of Kisses so romantic looking!
Very nice eyes!
Char--So bright and sparkly! You see the difference in your foliage, but I am living in the land of white, yellow and brown. Green is hard to come by. My roses are actually more bare at this time of year than they are in winter. Some of my iris leaves are white. It looks like I am nuts to most people out there everyday watering a dead garden. I have to keep the roots going. Your greenery rocks!
Pat-- Cute and bright blooms! Nice eye on Patriot's Day!
May your blessings include safety and health in a joyful August!

I am pretty much bloomed out here, with a few exceptions. Today saw the last day of bloom (unless I get another rebloom) on 'Let Me Be Clear' (which is so devoid of color here as to be almost white).

Also in bloom today (images were taken late afternoon in shade, going on 5 pm) were:

Thumb of 2016-08-05/Polymerous/cec8ba
December Wedding

Which I got partly for the name, but it has been very pretty this season (sorry for not seeing the brown leaves before I took the pictures, and for the blurred single bloom image Sad );

Thumb of 2016-08-05/Polymerous/e8c5dd
Sacrament of Healing

Also bought partly for the name (and partly for the Whatley legacy/form);

Thumb of 2016-08-05/Polymerous/15eb10
Sacrament of Healing, or volunteer seedling?

Next to 'Sacrament of Healing' is something which may or may not be a volunteer seedling from SoH (the confusion is because I tend to lose seeds and have volunteers, but I have also learned that some daylilies "wander"). I keep meaning to dig and figure out if it is a seedling or from an underground (I forget what it is called, surely not a rhizome? Confused ) part of SoH. I can't do it now, because of blooms and pods. Maybe I can get it done this year, before they both go dormant. (On the other side of SoH is another maybe-volunteer-seedling. Rolling my eyes. )

Both 'December Wedding' and 'Sacrament of Healing' have large flowers here, but not as large as their registered sizes. Both have some amount of rebloom (this is the first year that I have seen any rebloom on SoH); these images were from blooms on rebloom scapes (as was the image on the maybe-volunteeer-seedling).

Winning Note

'Winning Note' has put on a good show this year, generally opening flat;

'Gadsden Icicle' was also in bloom today (but I did not bother to take a picture as it is down to the last few blooms and it will be removed from the garden this year).

I will have a few more blooms on a pair of seedlings, neither of which is especially beautiful.

I do have a rebloom scape coming up on 'Coming Up Roses', and also on 'Twist Again', but it will be another week or so until they bloom. But at least I will have blooms! Thumbs up
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

I had 'Jen Melon' once; I always liked the color. It's nice to see it again!

I bought 'Boundless Beauty' many years ago, but it never thrived for me.

Your 'Lavender Stardust' has better color than mine ever did.

I'm at the end (pretty much) of my bloom season, but I guess you're near your peak? You certainly have lots of colorful blooms right now! Thumbs up

Polymerous-- vary nice elegant blooms on your daylilies! I like all the almost whites and their edges! They remind me of clean linen!
Mike-- I enjoy all the colors on your daylilies! You actually have lots of shades in every color family. You are making me want to try different ones to see if they would have coloring here.
Charley-- very classy basket of blooms. I love your shade variations!
Hope you get a beneficial rain!

Many blessings to all for a safe and joyful weekend!

Clouds of Kisses is such a sweet looking bloom!
Very pretty basket of blooms Charley. When it is raining or going to rain I like to pick blooms to enjoy inside.

The garden is coming out of peak so figured it was time to run errands this morning and then I stopped at the nursery...they are having their perennial sale this month. I should have used a wagon for my plant picks rather than carrying the pots and setting them behind my rav...only so many fit in the wagon. Whistling By the time I got home it was already hot and steamy so no new images, but I do have some from last week that were open again today. Smiling

Bemused By Color, a favorite with nice color and plant.

Navajo Warrior, distinctive orange with watermark.

Shadow Cabinet, tall with graceful, sturdy scapes.

Southport, an early sculpted cristate form and one of the most consistent in my garden rarely showing a bloom without cristation.
