Help for Droopy Elephant Ears

By ShadyGreenThumb

Those wonderfully large Elephant Ear leaves can grow so large that they start to droop and fall to the ground. Here is an easy solution to keep your "ears' standing up and off the ground.

Thread OP

I think they were sprayed accidentally from the lawn service company. Our yard was treated yesterday and I noticed this morning that they are drooping to the ground. Is there a way to save them if they have been sprayed?

Hi. I am trying to grow exanthosoma elephant ears in large pots outside. Mine are about 3' tall in the pot. What happens with mine is that the stems keep breaking; I had 3 large stems growing one of my big ones the stem just gets bent over then that's it. It's dead. I read that it might not be getting enough sun so I moved the pot a couple of weeks ago to a morning sun spot where it gets about 4 hours of sun. Do you think it is missing a particular nutrient? I read to sprinkle a tablespoon or so of Epsom sally around the base of the plant. It's winter in SW Florida so I only water every other day.
