I'm definitely new to the whole plant/landscaping scene, but I find it incredibly interesting! I was planning on redoing the front yard of my home, and would love something like this. Could anyone help me ID the plants in front of the wall (red leafy tall + small short shrubs). Thanks so much!

An option that would create that effect would be purple leaved Phormium, although I'm assuming that the orangey middles are from lighting? Someone else may be able to come up with other possibilities. I assume you're in a climate that is mild in the winter otherwise options are more limited. Here are some Phormium pics:

The variegated plant in the front looks like Lirope spicata or another Lirope species

The green broadleaf in the middle could be a variety of plants, with vase-like growth habit

The pretty dark red plants in front of the wall might be large bromeliads, but when I blew the photo up as big as I could, they were too blurry to tell for sure.

The shorter ones might also be broms, but again not enough detail to tell. I'd be hesitant to plant a whole bed in bromeliads in full sun, as the picture shows. Just my personal preference, and experience with the plants shows they do better in some shade.
