Living in a dry heat with high temperatures between 105 and 110 during the summer, purslane laughs in your face and thrives here in Phoenix, Arizona. Add some incredible, edible ornamental purslane to your garden this summer! A salsa with purslane recipe is included in the article.

No, they won't live in winter. You'll need to bring them indoors and keep them in the sunniest place. Vicki lives in NC so lets ask her: @vic, what have you done for yours?

No, they will not survive and in my case, don't even reseed.

Now this part, I'm going back to Becky @Boopaints - dig it up before first frost and keep in a sunny window and water sparingly. I've only tried it once but I didn't do well with it so I just buy new plants each year. Becky has had tremendous success in overwintering hers - I think Whistling Crossing Fingers! Green Grin!

Yes, @vic, I have had success BUT I would just as soon buy new ones too. I worried over the one purslane like a mother hen all winter. It even bloomed once (teeny blooms though) and once I put it outdoors, it took off in the ground. I moved before I found out what happened the next summer.
