Good to have a reminder. I usually remember them in January and it's too late! And that's a beautiful poppy!

Thank you so much for the reminder. I forgot all about the oriental poppy seeds I harvested this summer. Will sow them tomorrow.

I have poppy seeds someone gave me a couple years ago... several tablespoons. I always forget to put them out. Do you think they would still be viable? Anyone know when they germinate? I usually put down pre-emergent in April. If they germinate before then, that would work!

My poppy seeds just seed themselves I don't even have to put out new seed. I planted California poppies afew years ago and they self seed and come up each spring.

Juli I use pre-emergents also I just don't throw it in the area where I plant seeds. I don't have any problems.

It is still a little early here, but that is a good reminder to check the seeds.
I also bought large packages of poppy seeds in the grocery store.
The neighbours and the squirrels have taken most of the poppy seeds from my plants.

Which poppies are you sowing in the fall?
Some work for me, and some don't, -- if sown in fall in zone 3?
