I have always thought Jerseys to be the most beautiful cows; I love their deer-like eyes.

A neighbor thinks Brahmas are gorgeous. I don't see it!

I think they are both beautiful but then I think all cows are beautiful. I had a friend Brahma once. Lovey dubby

I had to milk a small herd of Jerseys for 2 weeks. It was like milking calves. Green Grin!

Do you mean that they are smaller than other milking cows?

The smallest one wasn't much taller than past my waist. And I'm only 5-4. Green Grin!

Sounds like those were mini Jerseys. Those are amazingly small.

Most were bigger, but not much bigger. I'd rather milk Holsteins any day. And Jerseys have an attitude, I've heard, from people who milk them. These weren't too bad, only one I had trouble with and she was NASTY!

I can see it!
--especially fond of the crosses. (I get a lot of grief, though, picking out the 'cute' ones, referring to them as 'cute', etc. so I try hard to not make a spectacle of it)
But then again, I think they are all gorgeous creatures. My first soft spot was for the Brown Swiss calves....awe

Both Elsie and Frenchy are striking ladies, from a very handsome sire Smiling

Oh I would definitely have chickens if I could. I just love chickens. But illegal here in my town. Yes, I know lots of cities allow chickens these days but not here.

Dirtdorphins, I still don't see it. Quite a few of my mamma cows are Brahman crosses, but they are not beautiful as the Jerseys are.

After having Jerseys myself, I will always stay with them. I always found them to be particularly good natured. We never even had to tie in order to milk - just walk in with their buckets of 4-way and they were good to go.

Our girls were culls from a large dairy farm so maybe they were just thankful to be family cows nodding

We did look into several of the dairy breeds before getting our first Jerseys but since fat % was more important than quantity (we like our cream, butter and cheese), Jerseys fit the bill.

Sorry Porkpal...I guess it's in the eye of the beholder then. They sure don't have the refined features and deer eyes of the Jersey, but they do have big ol' rubber ears and fantastic humps and pendulous dewlaps and 'personality', charm and elegance all their own ...and worthy features like heat tolerance and feed efficiency too...

Rita, I felt like it a bunch, but I only actually cried twice during the whole moving away from the farm thing:
when I gave my chickens away and when I sold my skiddy
