Can anyone tell where I can get this beautiful orange freckled coleus. Any and all website either don't have them or "out of stock". I would even take seeds.....
I'm desperate....

Welcome to NGA, @Kittycp !

It would be helpful for us to have an idea where you are located. Are you wanting to obtain plants of this variety now? or in the spring?

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any sources that have it in stock, either... I hope someone else will have more info for you Smiling

Hi Kittycp, Welcome! from me too!
Wow, that Coleus sure is a beauty, looks like it's on fire! I'd love to know the cultivar name of that one! I haven't grown Coleus in many years but seeing that picture makes me want to order some next spring. A great place for Coleus is Rosy Dawn Gardens: http://www.rosydawngardens.com... but they are closed for orders until their 2017 catalog goes on-line in December.

Thank you Sandy and Lin Thank You!

I did go to RosyDawnGardens. They too don't even show this particular plant but they did offer two other places, one being Proven Winners. They had it on their website and led me to some local retailers all which we have already been to and have ordered the plant as it was on their website. Going around in circles. Sighing! Glare

I have emailed Proven Winners.... see what they have to say. Crossing Fingers! Crossing Fingers!

By the way, Proven Winner has the name as "Freckles Coleus Solenostemon scutellarioides".

Sandy, I'm really loving the looks of 'Freckles' .... thanks for the cultivar name. Kittycp's photo looks just like Njiris' database photo! The others at that entry don't have such vivid color but I know that's probably due to lighting conditions. I will have to remember that cultivar name for ordering next spring. Our new house has tons of shade and I have lots of areas where Coleus would really pop!

I hope they do great for you once you finally manage to locate some, Kitty!

Solenostemon scutellarioides is a synonym for Plectranthus scutellarioides -- the "powers that be" seem to keep changing the names just to keep us on our toes... Rolling my eyes.
