Oh, I got a few blooms each year for a while, but the plant was always weak. Too tender for here.

When I lived in MD, I tried to grow it twice and it failed to thrive. In MD, I was in zone 6/7. I won't even bother trying to grow it in my Zone 5 garden in NY.

Paige's PiƱata has not increased very well and blooms for about a week for me. I love the coloring.

This is a photo taken this morning of my Paige's Pinata, at least, the one I purchased by mail order in 2007 as such. Based on previous reviews, I wonder why it grows well here in my Cdn. zone 5. It is mid to late for me, has numerous scapes but only 8 buds and 2 way branching per scape. It is the registered height here or a little more. The plant has increased modestly for me, a good sized clump 9 years later. I took off some this past spring and I am planning to divide even more next spring. I don't know about fertility as I have not tried. Photoes in the data base show variations but I think mine fits in with other pics there.

I acquired 5 fans of Paige's Pinata a year ago and it was transplanted into a new raised bed in October 2015. It is currently a small clump increasing by 1 fan for a total of a 6 fans. It bloomed a single scape the middle of July and produced it's last bloom on August 21. No re-bloom. It produced a grand total of 5 blooms! Whistling Rolling my eyes. Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

It created a single branch with originally 2 buds that produced a bud builder of 3 more blooms, though the overall bud count was not impressive. Oddly, those 5 blooms took their sweet time to bloom extending over a month. I do like the blooms and it does appear to be rust resistant, but I was disappointed in the low bud count. Perhaps it will perform better next year. Time will tell.
