Hi group

My name is Humberto and I'm from Lisbon - Portugal.

My favorite genus in the gesneriad family are achimenes and kohlerias.

I've about 200 different ones and I've been growing them for about 30 years.

I'd like to hear back from you who may share the same interests.

I've been growing some for just about the same length of time, but only Achimenes mostly - along with a couple of Eucodonias and some hybrids between those and Smithianthas. I've never tried a Kohleria. If you have some, post some photos. I'd love to see them. Mine are running really late in beginning bloom this year. I think some are probably going to skip blooming. The plant growth has been really good, but they aren't producing many blooms so far.

You posted a couple of pics successfully now. What happened that you couldn't post? You should be able to do that by going to the bottom of the message box and selecting the green box that says
'Upload an image'. After that you should be able to go into your own computer storage system of photos and find the photo to open here.

I'd hate to be the only one to get to see your photos, especially now that you've put a couple up on the site. Also, if you are growing named cultivars it's always nice to have photos submitted to the Plant Database here. I can give you my email, but it would be better for me to receive them here via tree-mail. To do that, just click on my user name and toward the top in blue letters it will say "Send needrain a Tree-Mail". When you click on that it will bring up a message box and the option to send a photo. A lot of the functions on NGA will get easier after using them a few times.
