Last evening the butterfly bushes were covered with cats but this morning, only a few still munching on what is left of the leaves - they stripped it clean. Where are all those cats today?
They can't have crawled very far...

There are 4 chrysalis hanging on the wooden fence and two already opened. Saw a couple fluttering by...

Way to go Kurt!! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Pretty skippers Christine.

Betsy, do you know what kind of cats/chrysalises?

I did get egg bombed. I only could find one egg but I'm sure there must be more. The leaves are small & close together. The only way I would be able to see better is turn the plant upside down or lay on the ground & look up & I'm not trying either. Hilarious!
It is amazing how the milkweeds are putting on new growth though. They were close to being stripped clean.

??? I did not know that Butterfly Bush was host to anything. We are talking Buddleia - right?
I have 12 bushes and see tons of nectaring, but never any type of Car.

David, I can't remember who it was, but we had a user with Buckeyes hosting on Buddleia last year. I think it was one of the Florida folks? Confused

I didn't even pick up on that Betsy had said the butterfly bushes. Need to put my thinking cap on & pay attention.

The front pasture is mowed, but there's still plenty of tall grass out back, which is where the little Common Mestras like to hang out.

What Char! ! Whoa!---I refuse to believe that you were not a professional photographer in a previous exisitence. I love the BFs of coursse.... but shot of the grass giving off its seeds looks like something out of National Geographic Hurray!
