It does look lovely draping down like that. Is the wire fence for rabbits?

Hi, Paul. Very nice and I like the cascade form too. Do you have a name for it? The best I can see from the tag is "With" which would make it a Withnerara [With] (Aspasia x Miltonia x Oncidium x Odontoglossum) or in other words, a multi-genera Oncidium hybrid.

I love the cascade, too. I let all my Phals and others bend if they want to. Never stake anything. White flowers are just so elegant, it's beautiful.

I'd be willing to bet all that wire fencing is for wallabies . . Paul?

It certainly looks happy there, Prabhi. That could be the center piece on any show display!

Prabhi S...I do hope your Den. bracteosum makes a recovery....do you have any idea what has happened to it? I just noticed that you are from Trinidad...I have to tell you that of all the Caribbean Islands I traveled to while sailing for 3 years, Trinidad was my favorite! Not because of the beautiful beaches but the beautiful people, countryside and the food! We spent 4 months there during the hurricane season and I was lucky to see Caroni Swamp where the Red Ibis come to roost every night..

Thumb of 2016-09-05/sugarcane/5999c3
and we spent several days at the Asa Wright Bird Sanctuary , which is worth a trip to Trinidad all by itself!

The absolute best tour I've ever taken was called ' A Taste of Trini' where we drove from one street vendor to another sampling up to 91 things...I had to stop at 64 , it was just too much, even over a 14 hour period!

many thanks for the kind compliments.
When you grow an orchid in a 4" clay pot even with holes in bottom and sides roots get compacted over a period of time
along with growing medium, then fungal infection and soft rot sets in leading loss of your orchid.
I would post an image of my plant if it survives

Hmmm, Prabhisetty would it help your orchid to survive if you took a hammer and carefully broke away the clay pot from around the root mass? Then remove as much of the clay pieces as you can without tearing any healthy roots of course. Getting more air to the roots is only going to help stop the rot and fungus situation. Might be worth a try?

Beautiful pictures, Lindsey. Red ibis, Wow! and the Trini blue bird looks like he's wearing sun glasses. Now I think I'd love to visit Trinidad.

Vanda lamellata is a small, easy manageable Vanda and blooms a couple of times throughout the year. It is opening now a small spike.

And Lc Love Knot v. coerulea opens some more buds in the cage. The blooms are very fragrant.

Afew things going on
First blooms on a young Grammatophyllum scriptum var. citrinum. Didn't think I'd see anything until next year. Below the second shot is a spike from a NOID Onc. I think Shrug!

The Den. moorei is just lovely, Ted but I like the shot of 'Maj' chatting with her neighbor. Lovely graceful flowers.

I have nothing new except more buds on Chief Sweet Orange, formerly my NOID cattleya. Two more spikes with buds ready, and another sheath ready to break open plus four spikes in full blazing bloom. I resisted taking a picture today since the light was really harsh and from the wrong angle.

Tomorrow I"m going to make it rain by spraying around some more fungicide. Been seeing a few more black spots than I'd like after 9 inches of rain in 4 days last week. Today I made it rain by fertilizing. Can't win.

Ursula, I love that Vanda flower!

Ted, the Grammy flower looks waxy. Very nice. Also love the Den moorei.

It is waxy flower, Jim. Seems to get waxy set as it gets older.

Thanks for the comments on my white cascading cym. Some interesting guesses re its name and the reason for the wire fencing.
Well, eagle-eyed hawkeye, you did spot ''With'', but couldn't see the rest of the tag.It is a straight cymbidium, Without Peer "Soft Touch".
As for the wire fencing, this is to prevent my 10 month old German Shepherd ''Remy'' from totally destroying everything. My old dog died last year on Oct 2, also a Shepherd, but she was an angel, never even knocked a pot over, would run between rows of pots , never do short cuts. She is at rest between the last two fruit trees on the left, a Narabeen Jap plum and a Nashi pear (20th Century) She would eat any low hanging fruit of any kind. The pear tree will be in full bloom on Oct 2, so if I ever need any reminder of her....I've had Shepherds for the last 46 years, a wonderful breed, now that I'm older, another benefit is that I sleep without a care, knowing that any intruder would at least get the fright of his life and hopefully get his arse bitten for his efforts. Hilarious! (not that I want an aggressive dog)

Oh Paul...ya gotta love a puppy.. all feet and tail, going every which way! I have an older Lab...if she see's a good cut through on the lower part of the bench she'll take it, but she knows exactly how much room she needs to safely clear the plants.. and goes around the long way if she can't make it through.

My Psychopsis Kahilii Alba is starting a new round of flowers today. This one has 3 spikes so it's always fun! It put out a new P. bulb this summer and I'm curious how long before I will see a spike...and if it blooms on a short spike at first or grows up a bit...anyone know?

Mine have always been about halfway when they start to bloom. And as the spike gets older the taller it gets until full size
