Now don't laugh too hard, there is a Japanese iris hybridizer (Shimizu sp?) who grows all his stuff like that. Stacks them up so each plant can still find some light. He is noted for his "eyelash" hybrids between I. enstata and I. pseudocorus. I even saw a photo!

I wrote a rather long "discertation" about your lily bulb dilemma, Anthony, and now I am rather riled. So instead, I'll just say this:

Try to keep an open mind.

What you decide to do will be building your reputation for the future.

My back-up Longiflorums arrived yesterday,so the couple of people who phoned me to say''nothing is happening,in my christmas lily pot that i purchased from you'',will receive another potted Longiflorum, plus a little extra something, and they can keep the Longiflorum originally purchased, should it bloom next year[that is how 'i' keep a good reputation] Thumbs up -and chances are they will come back next year and buy something else from 'that decent bloke' Smiling

That is what most any good businessman would do. Whether it was his fault or not. It doesn't matter these days with the "nothing is ever my responsibility" mentality of society today. (At times I am very embarrassed to be American, as the USA seems to be leading this movement.) Good job. This applies to both you and the company you bought from, Anthony. So you got replacement lily bulbs, and your customers got an extra something. Who got the better deal? (a rhetorical question)

Did you keep some of the original bulbs to see what the problem really is? Did you keep any of the new ones? The businessman in you wouldn't care, but the liliophile in you would... Smiling
