I like it.

I keep hanging on to the 'older' irises because I've had them around so many years. But then they are mostly good hardy plants that bloom well and good looking too. And there are some 'newer' ones that I gave away because of poor quality, or I just thought they were UGLY! I won't name names, but some of the so called hot new things that came along later just did not appeal to me. But that remains an individual choice, and we all have different tastes. This is one of my top 10 all time favorites (Vanity) from Ben Hager, 1974-75. It just never does bad; and it's good looking too. This man was a very talented hybridizer!

Vanity is lovely & hardy, but the foliage can get ratty. Ben Hager worked with several sections of irises as well as daffodils, although I never saw those. He was our introducer to SDBs.

Pheasant Feathers is mine. An older one, but still one of my favorites.

Yes I changed it yesterday in personal tribute to @Sharon; a wonderful person who inspired me in so many ways. She is (and will continue to be) sadly missed by so many. The new avatar is also a personal favorite 'Olympiad', a Joe Ghio iris.

It's time for some of you to update your avatar. Several have changed them and others have newly joined.

My avatar is a seedling that I developed several years back.

I rarely have a flower as my avatar, so the timing on this thread renewal is good.
Mine is Fit for a King.

My avatar is Better than Butter, a cheerful yellow and white iris that always makes me smile.

I changed mine to Thornbird.
