Hi all,
My FLF is not looking good after a month of owning it, and after doing a lot of research (the last part of which brought me here), I thought I would try asking some experts for diagnosis and help!
-Got the FLF Dec 3
-It arrived with cracks in the leaves from being tightly packed for shipping. Those cracks have developed into large dry brown spots.
-Additionally, pervasive brown spots have spread over my plant in the last three days (shown in pictures 5&6).
-I didn't think of it until today, but some of the brown spots on my plant have gauzy-looking white spots in the middle of the brown part. And, when I received the plant, there were a bunch of places between the leaf stem and the trunk where it looked like spider webbing was present. Plant even arrived with a dried out mosquito caught in one of the webby parts. I didn't know about spider mites, I just thought there had been a spider on the plant and hoped it didn't arrive to nyc with it from florida.... but after reading about spider mites on this thread, I think I found some (pictures 2 and 3, attached).
-Lastly, I had to repot my plant about two weeks ago. It was busting out of its old pot so much that roots were coming out of the drainage holes, and almost no water was absorbed at all when I watered it. Before repotting, most of the volume of water that I put in immediately ran out again. So, I added about 4in of "Premium FLF soil" to the bottom of the new pot, left the root ball some space at the top, and there's about one inch of soil around the sides.
Thanks so very much for your time reading this and for insight! I just want to help this poor plant thrive. All best!
