Please post pics or ideas for fall planters that use things besides mums. I'd like to be a little different this year. Smiling

Prostrate Rosemary, snapdragon, pansies, Swiss chard.
In my zone in sheltered area these four will live all winter. If we get temps below 20 it is brief and I can bring them in garage or cover if it's only for a few hours. Plus we can eat the chard. I'm putting more chard in deck containers. Just planted it with seedlings Labor Day weekend do it will fill in and look like something in a couple weeks.

If I didn't have to get some outside painting done I would play with my plants today. I spent all yesterday helping a friend rebuild his patio cover. It's a good thing we have a few good days in the forecast because I really need to work over my semp containers, they are way overcrowded!

One of the kind of semps you gave me recently is planted in that blue container, Connie...So have fun, if and when you get to those overcrowded semp containers! nodding

Planter that I transplanted Labor Day weekend is now really happy.

These plants should survive all winter in my zone, they can handle the short freezes that we have here. Whenever it dips below 20s, which usually happens only once per winter, I can bring container in. Tho I've had pansies, chard and Rosemary easily survive out in the ground year round here so I think I'm safe.

Here is one I did a few weeks ago. I found these mums called Mumbo, this one is candy corn. It has three different mums in a gallon container: Gigi gold, Gigi orange and Gigi snow. I was happy to see this because I have so much trouble picking one color.
