'Daring Deception' is a semi-evergreen tetraploid introduced in 1994 by Jeff Salter. Jeff and Elizabeth Salter hybridize at Rollingwood Garden in Gainesville, Florida.

Daring Deception is an early to mid-season bloomer with possible rebloom. It is listed as having a rust susceptible rating of 2.7. It has earned the following AHS awards:Honorable Mention: 2005 and NRS: 2008. It is both pod and pollen fertile with currently 75 registered children:
