Love your bunny. He looks just like a Dutch Miniature I had way back in the 1960's (Okay, just proved I'm OLD!). He was my traveling partner during my misspent youth.

Where do you live? Your plant looks a lot like some asters that live in the desert around here.

Flowers remind me of a Centaurea sp..

My guess is also Vernonia, either Smooth Ironweed (Vernonia fasciculata) or Giant Ironweed (Vernonia gigantea)

This article http://floraofohio.blogspot.co... says V. fasciculata is found only in the eastern fringe of Ohio and that Missouri Ironweed (Vernonia missurica) is endangered and only found in two counties.The article also states that although there are four different native species found in Ohio, 99% of the time, the Ironweed encountered in the state is V. gigantea!
