@HollyAnnS Sorry to hear about Ric's falls from the ladder. Hope he is completely back to normal from that. DH is forbidden to go up on ladders any more since he is over 80, as are 90% of the other fellows on our street for the same reason. I can appreciate the busy schedule you two have. We had to spend time in Florida cleaning up after Hurricane Matthew and didn't get all of that finished when we had to head back to AR to take care of things here. By Thanksgiving, I didn't even know what month it was, or what day for that matter. Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.

Yes, He is back to as good as normal which isn't always that good. But he sure doesn't stop, even though I wish he would sometimes. It has got to be so hard to manage 2 houses in 2 different locations. We are getting ready to travel back to Fl. hopefully this weekend. Ric's Uncle died a few weeks ago and we flew his Father up and he has been here over 2 weeks and is tired of this cold weather and misses his home. My Dad has dementia and isn't doing well right now. I am torn between going to Fl. and staying here with Mom. I just don't want to send Ric down there alone to do all the driving and there are some legal issues down there that need to be taken care of. So I really should go. Ric and I are lucky as there are two of us to deal with what comes our way and our children are a great support system stepping in when needed. I don't know how people that alone deal with it all.

You are indeed lucky to have Ric to help. I would be lost without Phil. He is my computer tech support, handyman around the house, and as he says, "does the heavy lifting" for me. It is interesting to see the difference in two widows on our block and how they handle things. One has always been self-sufficient and handles herself well, the other needs help from neighbors for various things, and sometimes when neighbors help, they are met with the phrase some of us are familiar with -- "thank you, but...." I know how it is to be torn between various choices. Next May we face a granddaughter graduating from High School in Illinois, another granddaughter graduating from nursing school in Arizona, Mother's Day in Florida with son and daughter-in-law, plus visit to dermatologist there! I know it will all work out in the end but it is a dilemma thinking about it! Hope everything works out well for you.

“Little girl, why are you doing this? You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” After a few moments thought, she bent down, picked up another starfish & hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” Be the change you wish to see in the world. http://www.stillsthatspeak.com...
