chelle pointed me to this photo:

She's pretty sure it's not a Hardy Geranium (Geranium bohemicum 'Orchid Blue'). Does anybody know what this is?

This is the same incorrect image was also uploaded on DG under just Geranium bohemicum, not this cultivar.
Here a good image of Geranium bohemicum http://www.robsplants.com/plan... so it's neither one.

I've deleted it from the database. If we ever figure out what it is, it'll be easy enough to propose it be added back in out of this very thread.

I wish I could see the foliage more. If it had dark stamens and rounded petals it would remind me a bit of Geranium Sweet Heidy, but it's clearly not that. I'd like to have it if you find out what it is.

This looks like Geranium sylvaticum 'Mayflower'

http://www.plantsforshade.co.u...

It might be a similar cultivar but the flowers look right from what I can see, this site can be trusted to have the correct photo..

http://plantsforshade.co.uk/ac...

Nikita is similar but not as good a match, so is Amy Doncaster.

There's a list of sylvaticum cultivars on this US site for sale.. many from Crug plants

http://geraniaceae.com/cgi-bin...

It could be the straight species Geranium sylvaticum ..

http://wildseed.co.uk/species/...

You can view a very wide range of Geranium on Crug Farm plants, these people are plant hunters who have often met up with Dan Hinkley of the former Heronwood.

From the leaf I can see at about 1 o'clock it looks like G. sylvaticum, I can find nothing else which comes close and I imagine there will be some variation with different forms.

That was grown out from seeds I received marked G. bohemicum Orchid Blue from a trade. The flowers are only about 1" across, the plant is only about 8" high, and spreads maybe 12" or so. It is a hardy geranium, I've had it growing for 4 or 5 years, now. I have over 35 different of hardy geraniums, but I just never questioned what this was, since I had it listed on a seed pack. I can see from the photos in the links that that is not what I have. I will take some photos in the spring, and maybe someone can ID it from those.
