I have a plant that has a similar name to one that's in the Plant Database. Rather than risking typos (who me?), I took a picture of the label. Sorry but you'll have to click on it to see the whole label.

The closest pepper I've found in the database is Capsicum annuum var. glabriusculum.

So - before I think that the 2 are different and do something silly like posting it to the Plant Database, I thought it would be a good idea to ask first. Here are 2 pictures of my plant.

I know, I know. Better camera, better eyes could result in a better picture but what you see is what I've got. In the bottom of the bottom picture you can see a small white flower. That becomes the green fruit that later turns red (but not bigger) and if you want to eat any you'll have to beat the birds to 'em.

So what do y'all think I should do? Piggyback onto the existing plant or create a new one? Thanks for your expert advice.

Looks like the garden center label is missing a letter U: Pepper (Capsicum annuum)

Oops, are you looking for a cultivar named 'Chile Pequine'? I think the correct spelling would be Pequin
Chile Pequin (Capsicum annuum 'Pequin')

edited to add link for correct cultivar.

Well, I wasn't going to bring up the fact that I've heard Chile Petin and Chili Pequin. Don't think I've heard 'tepin'. And I have seen the spelling of 'pequine' without the 'e' on the end. (Dang it. Every time I turn my back spellchecker changes words on me. It really likes to uses 'equine'. And 'tepid' for 'tepin'.)
Since my pictures aren't all that spectacular I think I'll bow out of this trip. But thanks for your research.

Y'all might be surprised but I've changed my mind. Now that the peppers on my plant have turned red, and that I've looked again at the links that @Horntoad so helpfully listed, I'm going to add a picture to the Plant Database. I'll post it as Capsicum annuum var. glabriusculum.
And now my face is as red as the peppers.
