I wished I lived close enough to come by and take some of those trays off your hands! I would use them to sit pots on in my backyard. They look like they would work perfectly Or stack one upside down and stack another right side up on top of each other to cluster styrofoam cups of seedlings in them. I could definitely use them in my hybridizing of daylilies!

Great ideas. The trays are super sturdy. I found two tossed in the weeds behind a long-closed convenience store.
I've tried them for sifting compost- the holes are really big so it's a coarse sift at best. A hardware cloth liner would make it a better sifter.
I put them on top of leaf piles to stop them blowing away.
You could zip-tie 6-8 together to make a bin for fall leaves or temporary fence for small area? They're about two feet square, I think?

I cover bulb plantings with the plastic web type trays.
The bread trays would work well for that.
I anchor the trays with sticks or garden staples.
So far the squirrels have not got to my bulbs!

Those trays sound like the perfect size for a lot of things! My grandpa had a bread route in the 60's. Sure wish I had some of his trays!

Excellent suggestion. I was able to purchase a bunch of the bread trays and they are invaluable in and around the garden.
Here I use one to assist is sifting compost.


Here is one bread tray which is the perfect size for a gate for a small kitchen garden.


I set a bread tray on top of a concrete mixing tub when I am re-potting plants so that none of the soil will be lost.

The start of my "potato patch"


I used this tote to mix my potting mix & perlite, & then added water. I use this tray on top to keep the cat from jumping in & using it as her litter box. Once I pot up a plant, I set it on top so any water will drip back into the tote.
