I found this at the edge of my woodline. It has the most unique flat segmented bark. Is it a young Tree or a weed?

It looks like Euonymus to me.
Winged stems typical of some sp.
Euonymus alatus maybe.

The leaves look alternate to me, most Euonymus are opposite. E. alatus would be opposite. Winged elm has the same wings but alternate leaves.

First my apologies to @Calif_sue - I honestly thought I put this question in plant ID forum. Please forgive me, I'm trying!

I think @Sooby may be right on. I've never heard of a winged elm! - and never seen one either obviously. I think it's fascinating and will read up on it. I took some clearer shots for you and I will also read up on this tree. I would like to dig it up and move it as it sits in a bad location right now.

You can mark it as solved when you're satisfied with the ID. You might want to wait for some more opinions. Rock elm can have corky wings but the leaves look wider and the twigs would be somewhat hairy according to my field guide, as opposed to hairless for winged elm.

Even on the first pic, it is clear that the tree only has two wings. Euonymus have four, certain maples, six.
