So true, Janet. We get rain for 3 days sometimes here too. A couple of weeks ago we had a tropical storm go by and in 3 days we got 9 inches of rain.

We do have lots of wildlife in Florida though. All the critters and birds love to live here for the same reason we do - great weather most of the year.

Lovely trip Melanie. Thankyou.

The feral monkeys are a worry. Birdwatchers everywhere will blanch. They are shocking nest predators.

The duck on the gator was amazing. Crossing Fingers!

Glad you guys like the pics! I still say the duck is on a branch, though. The angle is wrong for an alligator. And that's not an eye; it's a knot in the wood.

Great pics, Mel. I wasn't too far from you, been in Dunnellon at Rainbow Springs for the past week. I can't believe you actually got a pic of one of those Monkeys, I've heard them while kayaking but never have seen one.

Sherri, there were a whole bunch of monkeys! They were mostly in the trees but two were on the ground. It was a little freaky, to be honest. I guess I thought most people saw the monkeys, but now that I think of it, one of the kayakers we passed on the boat ride asked if we had seen them. Everyone shouted no, but I yelled that I had seen them the day before at Silver Springs. One of them had a baby (Mom saw it, but I didn't) and you could hear it crying and it sounded so much like a human child. It was weird!
