I found this growing next to my wood shed. ID?

How big are the leaves?

The leaves are 12"-14". I have always wanted gunners manicotta (sp?) But thought they were much larger....unless this is a baby or some other species? Would more pictures help?

@Daisy @Calif_sue @stone Thank y'all for your help. I'm still not certain about the ID. It has several traits of all suggested but not all of any one. I'm still Googling. It appears to be a volunteer as the original owner of the house did not plant it and the last owner, a pastor and his wife, are not gardeners which has turned into a wonderful gift for me. They let nature take over all the landscaping for the 8 years they lived here. The property is 5 rural acres with every combination of light, soil and water I could ever ask for. So...as I clean up and excavate the original landscaping, new plants are popping up everywhere. Some are common, some unique. There are perennials, annuals, succulents, roses, loads of wildflowers, specimen trees, ground covers, vines and the must-have Georgia trees: hickory, dogwoods, magnolia, crepe myrtle, sassafras, grancy graybeard, Japanese maple, etc. I am truly blessed to be able to enjoy such a variety which would be out of my budget to install. Y'all have identified many more plants here for me already, and for that I am also very thankful.

Anyway I am wondering if this plant wants more sunlight as a couple of the leaves are in the shade and several get lots of indirect sunlight. The ones in the shade are lime green and the ones in the light are much darker. I hate to move it not knowing what it is, but aren't volunteers growing in the right place as the correct conditions were present in order for the seed to germinate?

If the stems were red I would say rhubarb. If it had vertical growth I would lean towards the plume poppy. If the leaves had fewer lobes or weren't leathery I'd consider ligularias.

What would you suggest I do? Clean up the pine tree debris and give "room to breathe " and some water to see what happens? I would love to know what it is before winter in hopes that it will return in the Spring.

Worst thing you can do is move naturals.... Especially in this continuing drought.
I have a ton of unique plants that I can not figure out how to propagate, and I absolutely know that digging them would certainly kill them.

@Calif_Sue @Daisyl @Stone I have found another of this plant in the woods. This time I noticed it has a center stalk that was already gone off the first one. I reposted my question with all parts of the plant. Should I mark this thread as solved or something so that I don't have a duplicate I'D request?

It looks like Silphium compositum to me.
