Thread OP

I received pink passion lily bulbs in the mail with no planting instructions. How deep do I plant them? How much sun (keeping in mind that I live in Houston, TX)? I am a very beginner gardener and need lots of help.

If you have a lot of hot sun try to plant them where they get only a half day of sun, perhaps on the east side of your home. Plant so the top of the bulb is about 3 inches deep in well drained soil then a layer of mulch will be helpful come summer.

When they emerge in the spring and the growth is about 6 inches long give a sprinkling of low nitrogen fertilizer and water it in. I use a fertilizer labeled 5-10-10 tomato fertilizer and that works well for me.

Only thing I would add to that is what kind of soil do you have? I know parts of Texas has a lot of clay and rocky soil
