As a lot of you I'm sure, I belong to the AOS and get the bulletin. I really enjoy most of the articles and the pix are outstanding. This issues bonus Cattleya extra was really nice. Question is, with the quality of the magazine I hate to throw them out. But find I really don't go back that often and most times can find what I'm looking for on-line or in this forum. What do you do with old issues.

They are sold ( with varying degrees of success) at our monthly meeting.. you could bring some to your doctors office, dentist or orchid therapy group and just leave them in the waiting room..a welcome break from all the devastating current events of Brad and Angelina.

I give mine away at our Orchid Club meetings.

As Lindsey said, we sell them at our club meetings and put the profit in the general fund. We put them on the silent auction table with a minimum price of a dollar apiece. We also sell them to the general public at our special events like the Orchid Expo and the Orchid Auction. AOS now has an option for an electronic only membership that reduces cost and storage.

Last year I was cleaning out a bunch of shelves and bagged up my AOS magazines dating back to 1993. They were complete! I asked plenty around, the library didn't want them, Dr. office declined etc. I wound up placing them at the curb for paper garbage pick up. I thought it was sad, but there was absolutely no interest around here.

That is sad, Ursula. What a shame.

I never ask at the Doctors...I just bring a couple and leave them when I'm finished with my appointment. I take my address off before hand so they won't know who did it! Whistling

If I may hijack this thread with something along the lines of other Orchid magazines -

does anyone here subsribe to Orchid Digest
and or
is anyone here particularly interested in Catasetums and related?

Maybe I should rephrase this! I would up with an extra Orchid Digest magazine about Catasetinae, which is absolutely gorgeous and informative. I don't want to send it back but rather gift it to someone here!

My hesitation is that in spite of spending lots of money on Catasetums, I have limited luck growing them. It seems like such a waste in my hands. I have the same problems with Lycaste orchids. I just can't get the water right.

If no one closer to you wants it, I would love to have it. I've yet to try Catasetums, but have been thinking about trying one. I love to read about orchids anyway.

Carol, if you send me a t- mail with your address, I will send it out tomorrow.

I hear you, Jim. I tried some years ago and never got any repeat bloomers. (Except my 'Witchcraft' is surprisingly spiking.)
