Do you think under the leaves section of data base there should be a choice of Semi Evergreen for plants such as Heuchera - Heucherella & Tiarella. I'm sure there must be others.

I am finding that some plants are evergreen in zone 8 but if you go into some of the colder areas, say to zone 6 or 7, they are deciduous and return in the spring.

That is exactly what this would cover. Even in the same zone depending on how cold the winter is some of my Heuchera stay evergreen and some do not.

Not talking about Heuchera here as that's not my area of knowledge but I've run into several plants I've entered which grow across a very wide range of zones which makes them deciduous, semi-evergreen, or evergreen depending. So what I've been doing in those cases is checking evergreen & deciduous & then putting a note in "other" as to that info. ie: depending on the zone it's growing in.

Basically semi evergreen means deciduous or evergreen depending on zone or severity of weather. I just figured it would just be simpler to have one box to check off.

I've added Semi-Evergreen as another option under Leaves.

Dave is there a way to check off all the Tiarella as semi evergreen, or do I need to go back to each plant. Info for all these were already filled in.

Bob, yes we can. Go to this plant:

Foamflowers (Tiarella)

and submit a data proposal for it, including all fields that should apply to ALL plants in the Tiarella genus. When you're done, I will apply the data proposal to all the plants in this genus.
