Thread OP

The flower was seen in August in the Tien Shan Mountains in Kazakhstan near the border with China. It was growing at the top of a mountain at about 3,000m where it was cold and windy and I'm wondering whether it might be some sort of alpine plant. Can anyone identify it please?

It definitely looks like something in the Brassica Family (Brassicaceae.)

Possibly Chorispora bungeana or a similar species.

Many thanks to you all for your comments and especially to Danita who correctly identified the plant. Looking at the pictures in the link provided by Danita brought back many happy memories of my trek in the spectacular Tien Shan mountains and the beautiful Chorispora bungeana flowers battling bravely against the elements. Thank you.
