It is almost time to stop our gardening activities (aka WEEDING!!!!!) and start browsing websites & catalogs for next years..........crop! Therefore, I think it my civic duty to help in that endeavor; thus my contribution. Enjoy!

Seedling 13-SDB-05-24-RE

Thumb of 2016-10-17/Misawa77/5824a8

Reblooming SDB seedling 13-SDB-05-24-RE, parentage is All Ruffled Up X Worry Wart. Seems like a very solid rebloomer as it had a big flush of rebloom in mid-September and just now (mid-October), it is starting another flush of bloom. Of the parents, All Ruffled Up hasn't rebloomed here but Worry Wart has sent up occasional fall rebloom stalks here. But the pod parent of All Ruffled Up has 3 shots of Wizard's Return in its involved pedigree, so it may be reaching far back into the family tree to strengthen the rebloom.

Besides possible 2017 (or Beyond - "say it like Buzz Lightyear"!!) introductions, Superstition Iris Gardens will had some old reliable irises to choose from. Here are a couple of "oldie" Historics:

Lighthouse (Salbach 1936)

Another Historic Iris that we will be listing for the first time in next year's catalog--Lighthouse (Salbach 1936). We like the yellow backlit glow in the middle of the standards***

*** Ok, so I am posting these in reverse order; my bad!

Rhapsody (Williamson 1937)

Sneak peak--One of the Historic iris that we will offer for the first time next year: Rhapsody (Williamson 1937). Probably will be in very limited supply, may or may not make the catalog, but will be available.

Here is a statement they made to someone on their site about it.

"we are hoping very strongly that it stays this way! If so, we'll try to rush it out as quickly as possible"

I like the color, but if the form stays the same it would be VERY nice Smiling

"Check out this OGB arilbred that bloomed for the first time this Spring. 14-AB-10-25. Notice something? There are NO standards!! Shown are top and side views. We'll be very interested to see what the blooms look like this coming Spring. Parentage is a (seedling tracing back to 2004 involving Aztec Prince and 2 doses each of Bagdad's Folly and Energizer) X Shaman's Magic."

That arilbred is trying very hard to be an LA. Bizarre.

Remember this tiny fact. They accept orders around January 2nd or so (details when they are published). This is before the catalog arrives. This is when you strike to get what you want lest they sell out early☹
