Thread OP

Thumb of 2016-10-22/amalsaro/df3f7d Kindly inform me whether this anthurium flower standing among two normal flowers of the same plant is a genetic change that has occurred or for some other reason. I have been growing anthuriums for about fifteen years now. Why is the spathe not seen. The spike looks normal. Thank you, Dr.Sarojam G.

It could easily be a one time (or at least rare) natural mutation. It might happen again, or the plant might go on flowering and never have an odd bloom like this again - from what I can see, the plant itself looks otherwise healthy. Really, only time will tell at this point.
