I'm sure they can't sell it, but oh boy, families sure could eat it.

It does smell good though!

It's like molasses. Nobody makes molasses the way they used to, laws prevent it selling it. But it sure was good.
Another hickory smoke memory.

Heh.
An apple stack cake is in my very near future.

Maybe even gingerbread.
Real gingerbread. Not the reasonable facsimile they make today which resembles nothing more than cardboard with ginger in it.

Thumbs up on some of this and a bit of that. Sounds like the apple butter recipe I posted.

Edited the recipe above, because I happened to get something from my recipe file today, and I did see that I wrote down what I put in the apple butter. 3/4 pot full of apples. Now how am I going to say how many that is? Whistling

But, I did have on there that I added two tablespoons of lemon juice. So added that above.

I still measure, don't know what a smidgeon amounts to, never did learn much from my mom I guess. My Mother-in-law once told me about baking bread way back in the 30's and she added a handful of salt and even the chickens wouldn't eat it. Hilarious! All depends how big you hands are I guess.

Pegi - here you go....

From Amazon page: These measuring spoons come in handy for those recipes that call for a dash-of-this or a pinch-of-that. Now you can take the guess work out of what a dash, pinch, or smidgen actually means when using these measuring spoons.
