Thread OP

I bought this plant from some lady at school and she says that it attracts butterflies but I have no idea what it's called and I want to know in order to take good care of it and know what to expect!

Welcome! Ivy98

I wonder if it could possibly be a Heuchera?

Welcome! A possibility is ninebark, Physocarpus opulifolius. The ID plant appears to have stipules, which fits:

Ivy98, Welcome!
Hmmm, both Heuchera and Physocarpus have stipules and attract butterflies.
Did the person say how tall the plant would grow? That might help with the ID.
May we know which city/state/country the plant is growing?

Am I seeing a tiny yellow flower in the top?
Think that rules out most of the suggested plants.
The leaves have interesting veins...5 veins all coming from the leaf stalk.

I was thinking those were new leaves. Perhaps Ivy98 could confirm which it is.
