...maybe we could figure out how to hybridize them with black walnut trees so that it gets the black walnut toxicity just in it's general vicinity....

....why, to my garden, of course! I have the perfect spot you can put it. Rolling my eyes. Big Grin Hilarious!

My perfect daylily would stick out from all the rest with constant blooms for months on end, incredible colors, eye-catching patterning & edging, beautiful foliage, fragrance, diamond dusting, and the ability to thrive no matter what conditions it is grown in (would be tough as nails!). And be fertile both ways with blooms that self-clean and not hang up on other buds/blooms.

I can dream, right ...... ? Smiling Thumbs up Perhaps silk flowers? D'Oh! Whistling Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Why, TO THE CIRCUS, silly Rolling on the floor laughing

This would be a cute name for offspring, but I see one registered in 2015 that is very similar.

Great thread, DND!

LoL, Steve!

Okay, in all seriousness, I think your trouble is that you have a perfectly unique plant, but if you breed it back to something else, you run the risk of getting what already exists.

My thought would be to see if TET Pink Stripes is stable enough to get your hands on. I'm pretty sure it was Bill Waldorf who was working on it. I know there was offspring produced from a TET Pink Stripes, so maybe? That might help you keep stripes in Clown Pants' lines. From there, you may want to bring in some thick-petaled genetics to give it excellent substance...and dark-colored or bright-colored, daylily genetics to maintain the rich coloring that you have. (Please don't go pastel! Hilarious! ) I see that clown pants has teeth, too, which I didn't realize before... Maybe try to increase the number of white teeth without letting them turn yellow?

Have been really enjoying this thread. Thank you for starting this, DND.
My perfect daylily would be "everything" listed in above posts with continuous reblooming at the top of the list.
