There are new listings on the Lily Auction for Gaskin plants and seedlings. I wish everyone luck on their bids and I hope that I may be lucky enough to win just one!!! Any of them would be great but I've got my eye on, well darn, I just can't decide which one I like best. Have fun and blessings to all, Mona

I'll be suprised if any go for less than $300. I have bid on some before, but they always go way way above my highest bid. I must say, they look like they are worth it. I told my DH that they just make my heart flutter when I look at them. Just think, at one time, long long ago, I used to make DH's heart flutter!!

I still bid occasionally, but they always go too high for me also. Back when she first started selling I actually won three. One of them was a double edge and so beautiful that I named it for my son. I felt he should be honored for taking such good care of me and helping me in my garden.

Wow Dot! That's beautiful. Has it multiplied and do you have extra's that you really need to sale so you might get lucky enough to buy another?????? How old is your plant. It just looks prettier every time I look up at it. Beautiful!!

I looked at the listing just minutes ago and 2 are already over $150 and there's still 8 days to go! A couple of the listed ones are multiple fans. It's really really tempting to try to win one of them. I could eventually sale one of the extra fans and maybe get a little money back..

Mona,
Guy Douglas is a moderate increaser, but Ann is getting 2 fans in the spring (farmerbell) and someone else is getting 2 fans. That will only leave me with a 4 fan clump, but I will keep you in mind for when I divide again. I think I introduced it in 2009.

Thanks for all the compliments, Mary did all the work I just bought it and named it. She sure has some beauties..

Oh by the way, Ann is too modest to say so, but her icon is her new introduction for this year named Grandmas Ruffled Curtains.

I've always wondered why the Gaskins daylilies go for so much more than others on the LA. Is it because they are unique, original seedlings that the winner may register and introduce? Because I see other registered daylilies offered that are really beautiful but don't go for nearly as much as some of the Gaskins seedlings. And Dot, your seedling is incredible! So nice that you could name it for your son.

I wonder if we could have a thread where we list all the people who post here that are hybridizers? I think it would be fun to find out this type of information. I know about my favorite, Fred Manning (Spunky1), but I had no idea that Ann was introducing daylilies too. I would love to have this type of information available somewhere here, along with their website addresses if they have them. Juli, is there any chance of doing this, or is this information already available somewhere in ATP that I just don't know about?

Ann, Beautiful! I have a very big love affair with daylilies like this. Even though I'm buying more bright colors this year, I still love the peachy, white, baby pink colors. When I looked at your photo up close, I can see all these colors in it. Can you give us a brief description? Lovely, just plum peachy!! Blessings, Mona

I was bidding on the 2nd Tal of Gascone x Crazy Ivan but I can't go any higher. I'll just have to make that cross myself next season and hope I get something close to it. Maybe I'll get the other one I'm bidding on (somehow I doubt it though)

Michele, I had a hard time setting any seeds on Tal of Gascone. I finally got one with Southern Dazzle pollen. I was able to get a couple of Crazy Ivan X Tal pods. I am keeping a few of those seeds for myself and hope the seedlings are similar to the Tal x Crazy Ivan seedlings that the Gaskins are selling. I wish you luck with your seeds. I am sure Tal would set pods more easily if I had some kind of shade cover, but it is in full sun.
