Bubbles said:@needrain Adora and Isabella are prolific bloomers. You might give them a month to show off for you.

They had last year!!? Adora puts a few buds out and they go on to bloom, but compared to Eternity the buds are very few. Isabella is just now blooming for the first time with a few buds on one fork, but the bigger problem for me is that it seems to be a magnet for mites. There are also a few mites on Adora but they probably are migrating from Isabella since it grows downwind and is the closest plant. Eternity and Tequila Sunrise don't seem to attract mites as bad. Just washing the plants with water has been enough to keep them looking mite free. I peeled every leaf off Isabella and submerged it when I took it outside and today every leaf I looked at was covered with tiny mites on the backside. So it's currently two pinks against one pink. There's not that much difference in the appearance of the blooms. At the moment, Eternity has a big edge over the other two. Right now, Eternity and Tequila Sunrise are forming a horde of new developing buds. Adora and Isabella have none showing. When the blooms they have now are finished, they will be out of buds. All that said, they will probably go to next fall before they get completely abandoned. I have no place to bring in tree pots, so new plants will have to coming from cuttings.

Had to cut down both brugs because of two days of freezing weather; one is suppose to be Isabella. They have been in ground for only a year, previously in pots. They are loving being in ground - I've never seen them with such huge leaves and blooms.

@piksihk I wish we had good enough soil so I could leave mine in ground. I have very large pots all around the backyard. Our soil is very alkaline as we are on limestone. All the soil has been trucked in over the years.

My in the ground brugs are coming back like crazy. I did lose 3 out of the 6 out front but that's OK. I only planted one. I don't even know how I ended up with 6? They were almost taking over. But there is a "bloomer" (Friend's grandson calls them) on one and it is only 3 feet tall. I have already started bloom feed regimen every Monday or so. These little trees make me smile.

The first one to bloom here was Sexy Lady! I was given a cutting the year before and it bloomed last fall. When I took it out of the hoophouse this year it was covered in buds and blooms, and had three seed pods on it! I'm trying to get the seeds to sprout, even though I would have no idea which brug was the other "pod parent."
