I didn't think you were glum, but I'm always a bit surprised when folks talk about how expensive it is to keep horses. Like any animal, though, there are extremes on both sides. I only kept a couple at a time, had plenty of pasture, and didn't mess with shots/worming/vets unless there was a good reason. Keeping up with 20 would be a whole 'nother issue! I do miss them running around. Enjoy!
