There was a long bed of white in Engelberg. It was made up of tiny flowers and a joy to see and photograph. I had not seen such beautiful flowers in my life so far. Millions of them in a patch!

It looks like Saxifraga arendsii Alba (Rockfoil). It is quite common here and makes an absolutely stunning picture in spring when in full flower. That is if I am correct in assuming that you are referring to Engelberg in Switzerland?

@sunnyvalley Yes it is, Switzerland. We had visited there in 2009 during the last week of May. I learnt that the actual season for Alpine flowering was not that time. Yet, there were some colours - I could see a lot of Begonias, Roses... many of the flower names I was not at all familiar. I saw some fine horticulturist shops displaying beautifully. My friend had to call me to make an overawed me go away from there!
